Work Arrangement: This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. 
Job Summary 
As Senior Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s control systems aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project’s control systems aspects are met. 
Major Responsibilities 
- Plan and conduct independent control systems work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of control systems engineering techniques for a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit 
- Lead the design, development, modification and evaluation of control systems components and processes using applicable Engineering Department Procedures, design standards, guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs 
- Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management 
- Develop conceptual designs for Control Systems engineering projects or projects with specialized or unique requirements 
- Support preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules 
- Prepare or oversee discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and support performance reporting 
- Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data 
- Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of control systems aspects of the work 
- Conduct or lead special studies of new Control Systems engineering methods, materials and techniques 
- Mentor Control Systems engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training and support professional development 
Education and Experience 
Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience 
Required Knowledge and Skills 
- Expertise in control system and instrumentation design and integration in the Mining and Metals industry 
- Functional safety certification 
- RPEQ certification 
- Expertise in OT (Operational Technology) Cyber Security 
- Expertise (including certification e.g. IECEx, ANZEx or AS/NZS 60079) in Hazardous Areas 
- Clear communication skills and cooperative attitude 
- Accountable and problem solver 
- Mentoring and coaching other engineers and designers
