The Role
We're looking for a motivated and reliable Batcher / Despatcher (Plant Coordinator) to join the team at Central Premix Concrete in Deer Park. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to step into the concrete industry or build on existing construction or operational experience. You don't need previous batching experience – we're open to training the right person who is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and enjoys working in a fast‐paced team environment.
Your Responsibilities
* Taking customer phone and email orders and enquiries
* Scheduling and allocating agitator drivers and trucks to customer jobs
* Operating the concrete batching system (Command)
* Coordinating drivers and ensuring deliveries are on time
* Handling customer updates, delays, rescheduling and service issues
* Monitoring stock levels and coordinating raw material requirements (including operating a front‐end loader)
* Completing plant pre‐start checks, daily housekeeping and ensuring safe plant operation
* Processing delivery dockets and end‐of‐day administration
* Supporting fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility compliance
* Maintaining environmental and safety standards across the site
* Conducting toolbox talks and safety meetings
* Liaising with customers, drivers and internal operational teams throughout the day
Hours
Monday – Friday (rostered shifts between 5am – 5pm, with flexibility needed for busy periods). You may be required to participate in Saturdays as required.
About You
We are open to experienced concrete industry candidates as well as strong operational professionals from related industries who bring the right attitude and willingness to learn. To be successful, you will ideally have:
* Experience in concrete, construction, civil, transport or building materials (e.g., batching, concrete operations, logistics coordination or plant operations)
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment
* Good organisational and problem‐solving skills
* A proactive and safety‐focused mindset
* The ability to lead and coordinate drivers and daily operations effectively
* Front‐end loader experience or willingness to learn
* A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
