The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Coastal Engineer to join our Newcastle team. We are seeking an engineer with a strong interest or background in coastal and maritime infrastructure to contribute to the delivery of port, harbour and coastal projects across NSW and Australia.Our project portfolio includes revetments, seawalls, breakwaters, sheet piling, wharves, jetties, boat ramps and navigation structures. The role combines technical design, site-based engineering and involvement in proposals and client engagement.
Our Ports & Marine team mixes structural engineers, coastal engineers, and material durability experts who are enthusiastic about working close to the water. They work together to provide a full suite of Marine Engineering services including port planning, marine site investigations, port design studies, dredging and reclamation, coastal protection, maritime structures design, dynamic mooring analysis, scour assessment and protection, and physical and numerical modelling.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop concept and detailed designs for coastal and maritime infrastructure such as seawalls, revetments, breakwaters, sheet pile walls, wharves, jetties and boat ramps.Prepare, check and review engineering calculations and supporting technical documentation including design reports, technical memoranda, feasibility studies and Basis of Design documents.Interpret metocean and wave modelling outputs and convert them into design parameters and loading cases.Contribute to technical specifications, quantities and construction documentation packages.
Here’s what you’ll needDegree qualification in Civil, Structural or Environmental Engineering.Experience in coastal or maritime engineering projects, or a strong desire to specialise in this field.Postgraduate study in coastal engineering, oceanography or marine science.

Our Newcastle team also integrates and supports the broader works in the West by collaborating with our Perth and Mandurah teams.
