This Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in cardiac nursing to join its dynamic Coronary Care Unit (CCU) team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional with substantial hospital experience to advance their career in a growing cardiology service, including its newly opened state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab).
About the Role
As a CCU Nurse, you will provide specialist care to patients with acute and complex cardiac conditions, including myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-procedural recovery. You will work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where your expertise directly impacts patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and assess patients' cardiovascular status using advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment
* Administer cardiac medications, IV therapies, and titrate vasoactive infusions
* Interpret cardiac rhythms, EKGs, and respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., arrhythmias, cardiac arrest)
* Collaborate closely with cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams
* Develop and implement individualized care plans
* Educate patients and families on cardiac health management and recovery
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
About You
* Current full AHPRA registration
* Minimum 5 years of post-registration hospital experience
* Solid cardiac nursing experience (ideally in coronary care, cardiology ward, or similar acute cardiac setting)
* Some exposure to critical care environments (ICU, HDU, or high-dependency cardiac settings) highly desirable
* Strong skills in rhythm interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency cardiac interventions
* ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
* Passion for cardiology and commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
