About the Role
Cisco Meraki has revolutionized enterprise IT and continues to have ambitious initiatives. We run a world-class Support team that assists our growing global customer and partner base. Our Support team is the backbone of Meraki, providing quality support to over 1 million active networks worldwide to ensure our clients' network infrastructure runs seamlessly and effectively. Our team is composed of generalists capable of troubleshooting all Meraki product lines, including wireless access points, security appliances, switches, mobility management applications, and phones.
We are looking for smart, passionate recent graduates to join our Support organization. As a Network Support Engineer, you will immediately apply your coursework, work with various industries, and gain exposure to diverse teams. Responsibilities
* Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, phone, and other network-related issues reported by Cisco Meraki customers and partners.
* Own each networking issue from initial report to resolution.
* Collaborate with other Support team members to resolve network outages, misconfigurations, and complex issues.
* Read and analyze packet captures using Wireshark.
* Work with Engineering and Management to diagnose and resolve critical escalated issues.
* Contribute to Knowledge Base articles by suggesting, editing, and writing in-depth content.
* Stay updated on Meraki features and technology through training sessions, team communications, and industry trends.
Qualifications
* Thorough understanding of fundamental networking protocols such as TCP, STP, ARP, Ethernet, OSPF, etc.
* Basic experience with network technologies including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLANs, and wireless networks (802.11a/b/g/n/ac).
* Previous internship, work, or volunteer experience in a network lab environment is helpful.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Eagerness to learn and be a team player.
* Passion for networking, IT, and helping people.
* Currently pursuing or holding a B.S. in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or a related field.
