You'll manage a portfolio of high‑value, complex agribusiness customers experiencing financial stress or heightened risk, stepping in early to stabilise situations and support sustainable outcomes. Day to day, you'll lead relationship management across farmers, producers and rural enterprises, collaborate with bankers, and coordinate external advisors (insolvency, legal and accounting) to shape pragmatic strategies that minimise loss, retain customers where appropriate.
What's the role?
You'll produce high‑quality credit submissions and briefing papers, exercise delegated credit authorities, and ensure governance, reporting and risk profiles are current and accurate. You'll also drive process improvements and contribute to the team culture through coaching and mentoring junior team members. This is a permanent full‑time role preferably based in Sydney, but also open to Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane – with a mix of office, customer site visits, and some travel to regional areas when needed.
What do I need?
You'll bring practical agribusiness expertise, strong judgement and a calm, solutions‑focused approach. If you're confident engaging directly with rural customers and shaping outcomes through clear analysis and influence, you'll thrive here. In addition, you'll have:
* Deep agribusiness experience, with credibility across farming and rural sectors and experience managing stressed or impaired exposures.
* Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with the ability to identify financial and non‑financial risks and design mitigation strategies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to produce high‑quality credit papers and influence stakeholders (customers, bankers, advisors).
* Working knowledge of lending structures, documentation, security and credit processes; sound understanding of capital impacts of stressed exposures.
* A continuous improvement mindset, and be able to identifying issues, enhance processes, and contribute positively to team culture and capability.
