Job Title: CNC Operator / Sign Maker (Creative Workshop Role)

We're looking for an experienced sign maker–type operator who knows their way around Adobe Illustrator and a flatbed CNC router, and wants to apply those skills in a more creative, design-led manufacturing environment.
This is not a standard signage role. You'll be working across architectural lighting products, custom fabrication, and unique builds—so adaptability and attention to detail are critical.

What You'll Be Doing
* Preparing artwork and cut files in Adobe Illustrator
* Programming and operating a flatbed CNC router
* Material setup, machining, and quality control
* Assisting with fabrication, assembly, and workshop tasks
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace
* Supporting the team across production when required
What We're Looking For (Must-Haves)
* Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator (non-negotiable)
* Proven experience operating a CNC router (flatbed)
* Ability to:
o Prepare files and toolpaths
o Set materials and run jobs
o Work accurately to drawings and specs
* Confident using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment
* Good understanding of OH&S practices
* Reliable, self-managed, and takes pride in their work
* A team player who communicates well and supports others
Nice to Have (Not Essential)
* Signage industry experience
* Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain – we can support this)
* Experience with materials like acrylic, aluminium, timber, composites
