About the role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership across Bapcor's Group Finance function. Leading a large team comprising of direct and indirect reports, the GM Group Finance oversees all aspects of:
* Statutory and management reporting
* Group Tax, Treasury & Commercial
* Group FP&A
* Shared Business Services
* Finance governance, controls and continuous improvement
* Finance improvement projects and systems uplift
This is a pivotal position that provides essential insights to the Executive Team, Board, and Audit & Risk Committee, and contributes significantly to strategic decision‐making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Group Finance operations, including statutory and management reporting, financial control, Group Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Shared Business Services.
* Provide high‐quality financial insights that enable strategic decision‐making across the Executive Team, Board, and wider business.
* Strengthen finance governance and controls, including developing accounting policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the external audit process.
* Drive finance systems improvement, uplifting processes, tools, reporting capabilities and leveraging data platforms to enhance commercial insight.
* Shape and execute Bapcor's financing and liquidity strategy, including funding negotiations and working capital optimisation (with a focus on debtors).
* Partner with Investor Relations to support accurate, compelling communication of Bapcor's financial performance and strategy to the market.
* Represent Finance in group‐wide strategic projects, contributing to business planning, transformation initiatives, and enterprise‐level decision‐making.
* Lead and develop a large, high‐performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, capability building and continuous improvement.
* Develop and execute the shared services strategy, ensuring cost‐efficient, scalable, and customer‐focused service delivery.
* Manage complex stakeholder relationships, navigating competing priorities and ensuring strong connectivity across finance, business units, and executive leadership.
What You'll Bring
You are an accomplished senior finance executive with:
* 15+ years' senior finance leadership experience, ideally in distribution, supply chain or similar complex environments
* CA/CPA qualification and a strong technical background in accounting, tax, and financial control
* Experience within an ASX listed organisation and comfortable presenting to Boards/Committees
* Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary finance teams
* Strong capability in financial systems, reporting tools and process improvement
* An ability to balance strategic insight with hands on leadership in a fast‐paced environment
