About the role
This is an 20 -month, fixed term, full-time position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) and will be based at W oollamia Depot, W oollamia The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Duties
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager – District Engineer – Basin, the focus of this position is to:
4. Undertake Project Management on a wide variety of infrastructure projects.
5. Support the delivery of project outcomes within the specified tolerances of time, cost, scope, benefits, and risk.
6. Execute the planning and delivery of Capital Works and Maintenance projects including options assessments, concept and detailed design, cost estimating, procurement, tendering, construction, and commissioning phases.
7. Ensure processes and protocols are in place for the compliance with all relevant legislation and Council policies and procedures and ensure that risks are managed in the project management of projects and works.
8. Arrange site surveillance of works to monitor technical, quality, environment and work health and safety compliance.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
9. Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
10. Relevant experience in the design and construction of Civil Engineering projects, particularly stormwater drainage, road construction and road rehabilitation works.
11. Demonstrated project management experience.
12. Demonstrated extensive experience in the development and management of Contracts for civil engineering projects, including contract preparation, procurement and administration.
13. Demonstrated ability to take a civil construction project from concept to completion. i.e. liaison with the client, preparation of construction documentation, preparation of detailed cost estimates, control and monitoring of time, cost and quality.
14. Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.
15. Experience which demonstrates compliance with an Organisation’s WHS Policies and Procedures and relevant WHS Legislation, keeping up to date with changes to safety requirements relevant to managing the delivery of Construction and Maintenance Programs and Capital Works and ensuring the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, customers, contractors and the public.
16. Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
17. Minimum NSW Class C driver’s licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
18. Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
