Executive Officer - Tasmanian Hemp Association
The Tasmanian Hemp Association (THA) is the peak body representing all stakeholders working and supporting the emerging hemp industry in our state since 2010.
The Executive Officer (EO) role is a permanent part-time contracted position with a maximum of 16-hours work per week with a potential to extend the hours as the association continues to grow. The position is accountable to the Executive Committee of the THA.
The primary function of the EO of the THA is to assist and enable the elected Board Members to fulfil their strategic and governance roles, and to manage the day to day operations of the association, including running community events and engagement with stakeholders.
While the position is largely worked remotely, you are required to regularly attend in-person events, and you must reside in the state of Tasmania. There is the possibility of some funded interstate and international travel for conferences and other events.

* a person with sound common sense, who can assist the Board in expansion of our Membership and identifying alternative funding opportunities, responsible for managing grant and other milestone reporting timelines, scheduling and running meetings

Duties & Responsibilities
The principal responsibilities in this autonomous role of the EO are:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders from diverse professional and personal backgrounds
* The ability to follow the THA strategic plan by carrying out marketing and branding activities including event planning and management
* A sound set of digital literacy skills and high level proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
* A basic working knowledge of financial reporting and online accounting systems, and be able to input data accurately for budget management
* Being responsible for any THA Staff. Together, you will regularly report to, and follow directives from, the THA Board
* THA staff must be familiar with and follow the rules of our Constitution as well as other internal THA policies, and ensure our association remains compliant

Selection Criteria
Previous experience in any professional environment where the above skills are transferable, demonstrated by example and included in your cover letter
These work experiences could be anything from:
* Involvement in the organisation and running of events
* Front-line customer service or hospitality experience
* Grant writing, Government Policy or media skills
* Knowledge of agricultural systems and communities
* Involvement in organisational development or emerging sectors

* Full driver's licence and access to your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed)

Salary/Benefits
* Inclusive hourly rate starts at $40/hour and superannuation contribution at the statutory rate (12%) will be paid to your nominated superannuation fund
