Who we're looking for
We're currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic New Business team. Based in our new highly appointed and conveniently located Perth office, this role is pivotal in shaping the commercial success of our projects from the ground up. You'll be working in a respected position, across high‑profile, large‑scale construction tenders, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate, competitive and strategic cost planning outcomes.
As a Senior Estimator, you won't just be pricing projects – you'll be influencing design, guiding strategy, broadening professional relationships, mentoring junior staff, and meaningfully contributing to securing exciting new opportunities for the business. Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive tender estimates, budgets, cost plans and take‑offs.
* Collaborate with design teams, clients and delivery teams to ensure alignment across all project phases.
* Identify and manage cost‑specific risks, opportunities and value management strategies.
* Finalise subcontractor and supplier tender lists, RFQs and quotation vetting.
* Prepare and review Bills of Quantities and cost plans from both internal and external sources.
* Support bid strategy development and contribute to point‑of‑difference tender approaches.
* Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
* Provide cost advice and feasibility support to internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications and skills
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in estimating or quantity surveying within the local construction market.
* Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Engineering (TAFE Diploma in Building or similar also considered).
* Strong understanding of construction techniques and market conditions.
* Proficiency in estimating software such as CostX, Buildsoft, and Microsoft Excel, as well as Aconex & EstimateOne.
* Exceptional communication, time management and problem‑solving skills.
* Proven ability to ‘think outside the box’ and deliver results in high‑pressure environments and work both autonomously and collaboratively.
