Help shape the regulation of Australia's evolving financial and digital assets markets.

ASIC is seeking motivated advisers at the ASIC3 and ASIC4 level to join our Markets Group FINTECH team. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of regulatory policy, law reform implementation and supervision in fast‐moving and innovative areas of financial services. These roles suit candidates seeking exposure to complex regulatory environments and emerging market issues.

Multiple roles are available across Sydney and Melbourne, with appointments offered on a permanent and/or temporary basis.

A future with ASIC means that your work will contribute to ASIC's vision for a fair, strong and efficient financial system for all Australians. We value what you will bring. We value those with sharp, analytical minds who are open to challenging the way things are done.

Our team

ASIC's Markets Group safeguards trust and confidence in Australia's financial markets by overseeing the full regulatory lifecycle and ensuring market participants operate with integrity, resilience and transparency. Within the Group, the FinTech team leads ASIC's work on crypto and digital assets, tokenisation and decentralised finance, shaping regulatory policy through law reform, guidance development, and close engagement with industry and internal stakeholders.

The role

In this role, you will contribute to ASIC's regulatory policy, law reform, and supervisory work, supporting effective regulation of Australia's financial markets and emerging FINTECH sectors.

You Will

* Contribute to regulatory policy and reform, including guidance, licensing frameworks and regulatory instruments
* Help turn regulatory reforms into practice through systems, processes and guidance
* Support supervision and surveillance activities with clear, timely analytical advice
* Research legislation, policy and regulatory issues to inform ASIC's approach
* Contribute to concise, high‐quality briefings, guidance and committee papers
* Use data and regulatory intelligence to support evidence‐based decisions
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including Treasury and other agencies
* Apply sound judgement when assessing complex information and managing competing priorities

About You

You have demonstrated experience in fintech, financial services, financial markets, or a regulatory or policy environment, with a developing understanding of technology, policy, risk and compliance issues. This experience may have been gained through a government role, regulatory setting, fintech organisation or legal practice, and enables you to contribute to translating complex reform, innovation or emerging technology developments into practical regulatory outcomes.

You Bring

* A relevant tertiary qualification and an emerging understanding of Australia's financial system and ASIC's regulatory role
* The ability to research and analyse legislation, policy, data and regulatory issues to support well‐reasoned advice
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to draw practical conclusions from qualitative and quantitative information
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft concise materials for a range of audiences
* The ability to work effectively with guidance, manage competing priorities, and build constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

What we offer you

ASIC's remit is one of the broadest of regulators across the world. ASIC regulates corporations, markets, financial services and consumer credit and monitors and promotes market integrity and consumer protection in the Australian financial system. Through our enforcement work, we hold to account those who contravene the law, working to achieve strong outcomes that address the greatest consumer and investor harms.
