Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Manufacture, install, and maintain all regulatory, warning, and informational signs throughout Springdale. Install and maintain all pavement markings including, but not limited to school zones, crosswalks, and parking spaces. Organize and set up work zones for the Public Works, Police, and Fire Departments. Work with City Planners, Civic Leaders, and citizens on special events. Aid in public safety by keeping sidewalks, streets, and traffic signs free of obstructions such as tree limbs, brush, etc. Check for and paint over graffiti throughout the City. Purchase and order materials for the Sign Shop. Estimate the cost of future developments and give this information to the Planning and Community Development Department. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Education And Experience
High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License; Obtain necessary IMSA Work Zone & Signs and Markings certification(s) within 6 months of initial hire date.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Daily contact with citizens of Springdale. Weekly contact with car rental agencies and part supply stores.
EMPLOYEE CONTACT
Regular contacts within the department and with other departments as needed.
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS
Must be proficient in the use of a one-ton flatbed sign truck, personal computer, cutting plotter, pressure roller, post driver, stripers, grinders, torches, and power and hand tools.
Other Skills And Abilities
Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
