We are seeking passionate and flexible teachers to deliver engaging, individualised learning programs focused on communication, independence and student success. The role involves working collaboratively with teacher aides, families and external professionals while implementing evidence-based practices, including Positive Behaviour for Learning and AAC strategies such as PODD and visual supports. Experience in special education is welcomed but not essential, and early career teachers are encouraged to apply.
Mount Isa Special School is Queensland's most remote and rural special school, providing highly individualised learning programs for Prep to Year 12 students with intellectual disability, autism and complex support needs. Set against the striking backdrop of Mount Isa's red hills, our school is committed to inclusive education, strong family partnerships and supporting every student to achieve positive, productive futures through personalised learning and high expectations. Working within a collaborative and values-driven team, staff are supported through mentoring, professional development and strong school-wide support structures.
