Albury Wodonga Health is seeking Staff Specialists for the following teams – Inpatient Unit – Nolan House, Infant, Child, Youth Mental Health Service, Continuing Care Team, Older Persons Mental Health Service and Adult Community and Triage Service. Staff Specialists provide supervision, support and direction for the multidisciplinary team as negotiated. Ensure effective continuity of care and promote effective admission, discharge and case management practices. Participate in and contribute to clinical teaching. Provide specialist support and supervision to fellows, registrars and Junior Medical officers (MO). Provide teaching to medical students from the University of Melbourne. Provide teaching to students from other disciplines and other institutions as negotiated.
Mandatory Requirements
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Knowledge and experience in the provision of direct clinical care for adults or children accessing acute inpatient mental health services or community mental health services.
* Experience in the provision of clinical supervision for other health professionals.
* Understanding of contemporary clinical mental health service provision in Australia.
* Understanding of and the ability to apply the Mental Health Act 2022.
* Accredited in Victoria to perform ECT (or willingness to achieve same).
* Willingness to participate in a shared weekend and on call roster.
