Overview
Inside Out Therapy is a Neurodiverse Affirming service provider that focuses on empowering neurodivergent children and their families through respectful therapy services. The clinics are led by a Director and a multidisciplinary team offering Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Allied Health Assistant and Counselling. Inside Out operates two purpose-built clinics on the northside of Brisbane (with a third on the way) and aims to provide quality and meaningful support to children, teens and families who are Neurodivergent to help each individual live an authentic and healthy life.
Inside Out emphasises evidence-based practice, family-centred and coaching approaches, and draws on frameworks such as Sensory Integration, Motor Skills Acquisition, Play Therapy, Routines Based Intervention, DIR Floortime, Trauma Informed Care, the Polyvagal Theory and Neurodevelopmental Treatment. Neurodivergent therapists are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Support a caseload of clients with weekly or fortnightly appointments using play-based, relationship-focused and neurodiverse-affirming approaches to develop language, learning, social, interaction and communication skills.
- Support emotional literacy to aid emotional, attentional and sensory regulation.
- Honor all forms of communication including gesture, sign, devices or other Augmentative and Alternative Communication methods to help each child find their voice.
- Engage clients in a play space rather than a desk-based setting.
- See no more than six clients per day, four days per week, with appointments on the hour (8am, 9am, 10am, 1pm, 2pm, 3:15pm); finish by 4:45pm.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, counsellors and allied health assistants.
- Use standardised, informal and observational assessments to inform therapy planning.
- Work closely with families on their therapy journey; focus is on therapy rather than lengthy reports.
- Liaise with external stakeholders to translate clinic activities to everyday contexts for the child.
About you
- Speech Pathology degree and registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Experience working with children is essential.
- Commitment to learning and growth as a clinician within complex family systems.
- Passion for working with neurodiverse clients, with some experience in Autism, ADHD and/or trauma preferred.
- Adaptable and flexible to meet client needs.
- Own a car and hold a driver’s license.
