About This Opportunity
A rewarding role that brings together leadership, forward planning and hands‐on IT expertise. Full‐time, Permanent with Base salary in the range of $104,616 - $113,920 + 17% super (HEW Level 7). As the Senior Library Systems Engineer, you will lead the library's workstation support team and oversee the stability, security and continuous improvement of its IT infrastructure.
You'll work across desktop environments, cloud platforms and automation and help shape modern technology services that support staff, students and the wider community.
This role is central to keeping the library's systems running seamlessly while also enabling innovation, efficiency and future‐focused service delivery. You'll contribute to meaningful initiatives including digital preservation, automation, and projects that support access to information and cultural collections.
* Lead, mentor and develop the library's workstation support team of x6 staff to deliver high‐quality, customer‐focused services.
* Oversee the operation, security and evolution of the Library's IT infrastructure, including end‐user environments, servers and cloud services.
* Drive the adoption of modern technologies, automation and best‐practice solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
* Act as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders, vendors and partners, and contribute as a key resource on major IT projects.

About You
* A robust technical foundation, supported by a technology‐based degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education) as well as extensive hands‐on experience in systems administration, DevOps and enterprise environments.
* Experience overseeing IT teams, with an emphasis on collaboration, capability development and sound technical direction.
* Broad and current expertise across infrastructure and end‐user technologies, including Microsoft Windows and/or macOS environments.
* Strong capability in designing, configuring and supporting complex solutions across cloud platforms, vendor systems, open‐source technologies and in‐house applications.
* Highly developed communication and relationship‐building skills, with the confidence to contribute to major IT projects and work effectively with clients, partners and vendors.
