Total Remuneration Package up to $375,000 (inclusive of super, vehicle & housing)
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and forming part of Council's Executive Leadership Team, the Director Infrastructure Services will lead a large, multidisciplinary portfolio encompassing:
* Roads construction & maintenance
* Drainage services
* Engineering design & projects
* Infrastructure planning
* Parks & recreation
* Plant, fleet & depots
* Corporate properties & staff housing
With responsibility for a substantial operating and capital budget (circa $100M+ combined), this role is accountable for strategic planning, program delivery, financial performance, governance compliance and service standards across the region.
Beyond technical capability, Council is seeking a pragmatic, community‐oriented leader who can balance technical standards with real‐world outcomes — someone who understands that effective infrastructure leadership in regional local government requires both commercial judgement and strong relationship capability.
This is a visible and influential leadership role within the organisation and across the broader community.
About You
You are a senior infrastructure leader with strong local government experience and demonstrated success leading complex, service‐based directorates. You will bring:
* Executive‐level leadership experience within Local Government (highly regarded)
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline
* Strong capital works and asset management experience
* Proven ability to manage significant budgets and multidisciplinary teams
* Political acumen and confidence engaging with elected members and community stakeholders
* A pragmatic, solutions‐focused leadership style
* The ability to balance technical standards with community expectations
