Kärcher is the global leader in professional and engineered cleaning systems. Our Vehicle Wash & Engineered Solutions division is expanding nationally, delivering advanced wash technology across retail, logistics, automotive, defence, industrial and commercial property sectors.
To accelerate this momentum, we are seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to lead national market growth, high-value project sales and long-term strategic account development. This role is suited to a commercially driven strategist with strong technical aptitude and experience in engineered or capital equipment solutions.
THE ROLE
The Strategic Business Development Manager – Vehicle Wash & Engineered Solutions owns the national sales strategy, commercial development and long-term growth of Kärcher's engineered wash division.
You will lead national sales execution, develop new markets, manage major accounts, and drive engineered wash projects from concept through to commissioning in partnership with our technical, project and operational teams.
This is a senior national role within a rapidly scaling division of a global brand.
WHAT YOU WILL LEAD
Strategic Growth & Pipeline Development
* Own and execute the national sales and commercial strategy
* Develop and manage a strong short-term, mid-cycle and long-term pipeline
* Operate effectively within 12–36 month sales gestation cycles
* Identify and cultivate new sectors including retail, logistics, defence, automotive, industrial and property development
* Elevate market penetration through early engagement with architects, engineers, developers and consultants
Major Project Sales
* Lead the sales and commercial engagement for:
* Automated vehicle wash equipment (car, truck, bus)
* Water recycling systems
* Manual wash systems
* Guide solutions from concept → design → award → commissioning
* Work in close collaboration with Project Management and operational implementation teams to ensure successful end-to-end delivery
National Portfolio Development
* Manage and expand relationships with major and national accounts across retail groups, logistics operators, property developers, automotive dealerships, defence and industrial organisations
* Support multi-site national rollout programs
* Drive long-term commercial partnerships and portfolio planning
Market Creation & Early Influence
* Engage early in planning cycles with engineers, architects, property developers and consultants
* Influence DA pathways, design briefs, engineering scopes and tender specifications
* Identify opportunities long before procurement begins
* Position Kärcher as the preferred wash infrastructure partner across core markets
Industry Influence
Represent Kärcher's interests across key industry forums and sector-aligned associations, including but not limited to:
* Transport & logistics
* Automotive dealerships & repair networks
* Car wash and vehicle care industries
* Commercial property & industrial development
* Defence, government & infrastructure
* Mining, marine & agricultural sectors
You will act as the national face of Kärcher's engineered wash solutions, strengthening visibility, shaping early decision-making and driving sector-wide adoption of Kärcher technology.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
* 5–10 years in engineered solutions, capital equipment, industrial, construction or major-project sales
* Strong experience managing complex, long-cycle sales (12–36 months)
* Demonstrated success in high-value project delivery and national account development
* Project management skillsets within construction or major project environments are highly regarded
* Background in logistics, property development, industrial equipment, automotive or related sectors (advantage)
Skills
* Strong commercial acumen
* Excellent contract negotiation skills, able to structure commercially robust solutions
* Ability to assess and clearly articulate project feasibility, financial modelling, ROI outcomes, payback periods and long-term operational value to senior stakeholders and C-level executives
* Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and articulate complex engineered solutions confidently
* Ability to interpret or discuss hydraulic, electrical and civil design interfaces
* Excellent proposal, tender and business-case development capability
* Advanced communication, relationship building and executive presentation skills
