The IT Operations Manager will manage a team to ensure delivery of ICT and ICT infrastructure services in line with agreed service levels, deliver value for money and adapt to changing requirements over time. Location: Canberra or Melbourne Key duties and responsibilities Lead ICT procurement activities; Stay updated with industry knowledge; Collaborate with senior/executive management and other teams Identify improvement opportunities, including automation and AI Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer Maintain reporting and ICT operational tools Provide leadership and coordination during IT outages, ensuring responsiveness and minimizing disruptions Handle problem management effectively to resolve issues promptly are continuously available and performs at a level that supports operational requirements Comply with applicable industry standards, regulations and policies About You: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally managing a team in a Microsoft and Cloud-based IT enterprise environment or government agency with a Windows 10- or Windows 11- based SOE Very strong IT operational competency Demonstrable experience assessing requirements, maintaining service levels, modes of delivery (insourced, outsourced, hybrid, shared services etc) IT procurement and contracting knowledge with ability to assess market conditions, procurement considerations Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement rules Understanding of various ICT infrastructure technologies and enterprise level business applications (please specify).
