We are seeking experienced, creative people with a passion for Food & Fibre or Design & Technology for casual relief work in our busy but varied Technology Faculty.
Our Technology teaching assistants provide teaching and learning support to classroom teachers in their day-to-day delivery of classes including preparing for lessons, setting up practical demonstrations, ordering and organising materials and assisting the students within the classroom as needed.
As a Food & Fibre teaching assistant you will be working with our Food and Textile classes. We would love to hear from you if you have a flair for sewing with sewing machine experience including overlocking and garment construction or experience in catering.
As a Design & Technology teaching assistant you will be working with our wood and metal work classes. You will have the ability to operate and provide instruction on a range of relevant equipment. Capacity and interest in the use of digital design software would be an advantage but not essential.
Whilst experience as a teaching assistant is not required applicants should have a passion for one of the areas and experience/knowledge in the following:
- Textiles and garment construction and/or Food production.
- Interacting with internal and external customers (parents, staff, students and suppliers) in a skilled manner.
- Organisational skills, including an ability to prioritise tasks.
- Operate and provide instruction on a range of relevant equipment.
