Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the receipting and distribution of incoming goods, picking, packing, and dispatching orders to internal customers throughout the Eastern Region of Australia. This involves adhering to receipting and distribution procedures at all times.
Main Responsibilities
* Adhere to established procedures for the receipting and distribution of goods.
* Acknowledge and inspect goods received at the distribution centre.
* Assist with unloading goods when required, using appropriate materials handling aids/equipment – Forklift, Pallet Movers, Trolleys etc.
* Verify incoming goods against courier/carrier documentation for details, quantity, and condition of parcels.
* Ensure deliveries are accurate in terms of quantity, quality, and specification, matching purchase order details and conditions.
* Precisely record orders in the computerized supply system and process/file paperwork/documentation such as packing slips/invoices and receipt reports.
* Separate direct supply items from inventory items for priority dispatch to the hospital.
* Deliver goods received to the inventory locator within the distribution centre, unpacking, checking for accuracy before placing into the nominated location.
* Rotate stock to maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) principle.
* Handle and store goods correctly, adhering to clinical and infectious control standards.
Requirements & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess high-level verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to multitask, manage priorities, and maintain performance under allocated time schedules. Basic mathematical skills are also essential for determining and verifying stock quantities, prices, and volumes of goods. The candidate should hold certification in operating a forklift and a current Light Rigid Heavy Vehicle Drivers License. Additionally, they should have basic computer skills and physical capability to perform all functions required by this position.
