Montefiore is currently looking to recruit experienced and motivated Chefs of all levels for our Hunters Hill Campus. These opportunities would suit professionals who are available to work across a 7-day roster. We are open to hearing from candidates who are looking to work 38 hours per week.
You will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare high quality food for our consumers. You will maintain the standards and cleanliness of the kitchen required by the Head Chef and be responsible for all dishes prepared in your assigned area.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Ensure that each menu item station that you are responsible for is prepared on time
2. Oversee all preparation, cooking and presentation for plates
3. Assist with cooking, preparation and plating when chefs are absent
4. Ensure all kitchen and servery areas comply with hygienic standards to prevent contamination
5. Compliance to HACCP food preparation standards
6. Oversee maintenance and cleaning of all machinery, equipment and utensils
To be successful in this role you will have:
7. Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
8. A recognised qualification within hospitality
9. Solid culinary skills acquired through formal training (Hotel or Commercial Catering) is an advantage
10. Passion for good food and presentation
11. Good work ethic
12. Excellent communication skills
13. Ability to work under pressure
14. Can-do attitude
15. Understand the needs and expectations of our consumers who are our primary focus within the Home
Desirable Criteria:
16. Experience working in an aged care setting
