As a Principal Planning Engineer in our Future Energy Division, your role as a technical expert will be pivotal in shaping Western Australia's energy landscape.
You will leverage your deep technical knowledge to develop advanced standards and solve complex power system challenges.
Your expertise will directly influence how we deliver clean, reliable energy to regional communities, making you a key player in our mission to innovate and lead in the energy sector.This is a permanent full time position based in Bentley.What You'll Do
• Lead the development of technical rules and planning standards.
• Provide expert technical leadership to engineering, legal, commercial, and operations teams.
• Solve complex challenges in renewable integration, CER, and battery storage.
• Guide and mentor planning engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Engage with industry bodies and stakeholders to shape best practices.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on technical standards, regulatory compliance, and innovation goals.What You Bring
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, with Chartered status highly regarded.
• Deep expertise in power system planning, technical writing, and modelling tools (e.g. PowerFactory).
• Proven experience with renewables, batteries, and consumer energy resources.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a strong focus on technical documentation.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to quickly earn the trust and confidence of key stakeholders at all levels.
