Would you like to help newly arrived refugees in Perth?
The Edmund Rice Centre provides community services to people from refugee backgrounds settle in Perth. Services included are settlement support, community education and youth services.
We need an enthusiastic and responsible support worker to assist with our Adult education classes for parents at the Kondoola Primary School.
* Transporting students in a Kia Carnival, pick up from home and drop them home after class (optional).
* Supporting the teacher with resource preparation.
* Supporting students in their learning.
* Supporting supervision of children aged 1-4 during the class.
* Setting up morning tea.
* Clean and pack up the room.
**Details:**
* Tuesdays 9am-1pm (school terms only)
**Desirable:**
* Bi-lingual in Karen, Hazaraghi, Arabic or any other community language.
**Essential Requirements:**
* Female only
* Driving Licence
* National Police Clearance Certificate or willing to obtain one
* Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one.
* Enthusiasm to support refugee women in their settlement in Australia.
* Patience to teach people who speak English as another language.
* An interest in learning about different cultures.
* Responsible and reliable.
* Ability to be flexible.
