We're searching for an experienced Category Specialist to join us on our journey to be the trades most valued partner.
About the Role
A great opportunity to join our merchandising team, as a Category Specialist you'll be partnering with the Category Lead to manage stakeholder relationships across all buying functions with our domestic and international suppliers. Your role is focused on optimising our product portfolio in our Bathroom and Kitchen range, while maintaining profitability in line with our strategic goals. As part of your induction, we'll get you to spend some time working in our branch network to gain a greater understanding of our products and services.
Responsibilities include:
* Helping to drive product innovation and development; managing products from concept to launch, collaborating with key stakeholders to bring things to life.
* You'll get involved in everything from product development, R&D through to supplier negotiations and management, pricing reviews and category optimisation
* Providing reporting and insights on category portfolios (using Excel and Power BI); analysing results to provide updates on trends and other impacts
* Having the customer at the heart of everything we do, helping us build customers for life
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Experience working in a buying or category role in merchandising, along with passion for all things product
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills along with a positive, can-do attitude and an inquisitive nature, with a thirst to understand the Reece business and products
* Strong relationship building skills, you'll be working with a number of stakeholders within the business and external vendors and suppliers
* Good excel and Power BI skills
* Business or Marketing degree qualification
