Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded Commercial Operations Manager to support and strengthen operational performance across Australia and New Zealand, with potential to expand responsibilities into the broader Asia‐Pacific region based on success in the role. This role plays a critical part in enabling the Protective Packaging business to improve processes, enhance profitability, and optimize planning. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Finance, the Commercial Operations Manager will provide strong operational leadership, analysis, and project management to support strategic commercial decision‐making.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Business Performance
* Drive process and operational improvements that enhance efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction across the ANZ Protective Packaging business.
* Provide high‐quality business analysis, insights, and reporting to support the Commercial VP and the broader commercial leadership team.
* Monitor and improve commercial performance metrics including margin development, cost‐to‐serve, product mix, and pricing effectiveness.
Planning, Forecasting & Inventory Management
* Lead demand planning activities, ensuring accurate forecasts in collaboration with Sales, Supply Chain, and Product Management.
* Support product lifecycle management, including introductions, discontinuations, and inventory optimization.
* Improve inventory management discipline to minimize working capital without compromising service levels.
Cross‐Functional Collaboration
* Partner with Sales and Marketing to evaluate market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics.
* Work with Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment between demand plans, capacity, and production requirements.
* Collaborate with Finance to support budgeting, business case development, pricing analysis, and financial planning.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement
* Lead and support cross‐functional projects focused on operational efficiency, systems enhancements, process redesign, and commercial execution.
* Champion best‐in‐class commercial processes, tools, and methodologies across the Protective Packaging division.
* Drive implementation of strategic initiatives aligned with Sealed Air's commercial and operational goals.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in commercial operations, business planning, supply chain planning, or similar roles—preferably within manufacturing, packaging, or industrial sectors.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, derive insights, and present recommendations with confidence.
* Excellent project management and planning capabilities; able to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder‐management skills across multiple functions.
* High level of business acumen with an understanding of profitability drivers, operational processes, and customer dynamics.
* Proactive drive, determination, and ownership mindset.
Preferred
* Experience in demand planning, forecasting, or S&OP processes.
* Experience in sales operation strategy such as Rebates, Pricing management, Order management, Contract management etc.
* Exposure to regional or multi‐country responsibilities in Asia‐Pacific.
* Familiarity with ERP and planning tools (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
