This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a forensic-specialist Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist/Registrar with high-level knowledge and experience in working with adults with severe mental illness and/or offending behaviour.

* The Forensic Specialist Psychologist will provide a high-quality, evidence-informed psychological service within the Macquarie Medium Secure Unit of Bloomfield Hospital, while also working alongside the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN).

They will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and a range of external stakeholders to enhance the assessment, diagnosis, case-formulation and treatment of forensic patients.

This senior role will be located within the Macquarie Unit, a 20 bed all-male ward at Bloomfield Hospital. The Ward is fully staffed with a mix of disciplines including medicine, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, education, dietetics, and physiotherapy.

This is a state-wide unit, one of only three in NSW, and offers a full rehabilitation program, including supporting consumers in their community discharge.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the assessment, diagnosis, case-formulation and treatment of forensic patients.

* Working alongside the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN) to support the delivery of best-practice care.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Forensic Specialist Psychologist who can demonstrate a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of forensic psychology.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

* A postgraduate qualification in Psychology or a related field.

* Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

* Experience working in a forensic setting, preferably with adults with severe mental illness and/or offending behaviour.

* High-level skills and knowledge in the area of forensic psychology, including assessment, diagnosis, case-formulation and treatment.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
