The Opportunity
Balanggarra Home Valley is seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join their team at Home Valley Station, near Kununurra, Western Australia on a seasonal fixed-term contract. As Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional culinary experience to guests at this renowned hospitality destination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage a team of skilled chefs to deliver high-quality meals that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce
2. Develop and implement innovative seasonal menus that cater to a diverse range of guest preferences
3. Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
4. Effectively manage kitchen operations, including inventory, budgeting, and staff scheduling
5. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen team
6. Contribute to the overall guest experience through exceptional customer service
What We're Looking For
1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role within the hospitality industry
2. Minimum 3-4 years of proven Head Chef experience is essential
3. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing kitchen teams
4. Experience managing and supervising kitchen teams of 4-6 staff members
5. Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines
6. Ability to create innovative and visually appealing menu items
7. Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
10. Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or equivalent industry experience
11. Experience with à la carte dining and high-volume service of 100+ covers daily
12. Experience working remotely.
