Senior Software Engineer – UI and API Development
Job Overview
Westpac Institutional Banking (WIB) is building the future of banking technology through the Westpac One Core/Treasury project. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, develop and implement enterprise‑level UI and API platforms for Corporate and Institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain cloud‑native UI and API platforms using React.js, TypeScript, Redux, Node.js (REST) and optionally Java and AWS.
- Collaborate with Scrum Facilitators, Product Owners, Lead Engineers and DevOps specialists to deliver industry‑leading solutions.
- Contribute to solution design, architecture and implementation across multiple programs and complex infrastructure, particularly in financial services or banking.
Qualifications
Knowledge
- Strong background in UI and API development.
- Deep technical expertise across modern development frameworks.
Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience developing and implementing UIs & APIs that meet project objectives.
- Prior solution design across multiple programs.
- Background in software development and agile methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with complex solution designs and implementation phases.
- Experience designing or implementing credit decisioning application integration patterns.
- Extensive experience in application integration on complex infrastructures, ideally in financial services or banking.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Education
- Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- Banking experience highly regarded.
