The Opportunity
This senior communications position oversees the media and public affairs team, providing strategic guidance to enhance the city's reputation and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and the community. The successful candidate will lead proactive media initiatives and manage the city's social media channels, often requiring work outside standard office hours.
* Provide high-quality, strategic media advice to internal stakeholders;
* Collaborate across departments to deliver timely, coordinated, and positive promotion of city activities;
* Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key media contacts across various platforms; and
* Manage project budgets ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

* Extensive experience in media and communications across traditional and digital channels;
* Excellent written communication skills and storytelling abilities;
* High-level experience in media relations and crisis management; and
