Lead Clinical Excellence in a Resident‐Centred Aged Care Environment
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist (Clinical Nurse Consultant equivalent) to join a leadership team in beautiful Hervey Bay.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering exceptional resident outcomes, driving clinical quality, and supporting the development of nursing teams within a residential aged care setting.
Working closely with the Director of Care, you will play a pivotal role in clinical governance, quality improvement, staff development, accreditation readiness, and the delivery of safe, person centred care.
About the Role
As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide senior clinical leadership across the service, supporting residents with complex and high acuity care needs while fostering a culture of clinical excellence.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading clinical assessments, care planning, reviews and documentation processes
- Supporting and mentoring Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Workers
- Driving compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
- Monitoring clinical indicators, incident trends and quality outcomes
- Supporting accreditation preparation and continuous improvement activities
- Leading infection prevention and control initiatives and outbreak management
- Overseeing safe medication management practices and clinical risk mitigation
- Supporting best‐practice palliative and end‐of‐life care
- Contributing to policy development and clinical governance frameworks.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership role within aged care
- Strong understanding of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
- Experience in clinical governance, audits, accreditation and quality systems
- Strong knowledge of assessment, care planning and medication management
- Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills
- Experience with electronic clinical management systems
Highly Regarded
- Postgraduate qualifications in Aged Care, Gerontology or Clinical Leadership
- IPC Lead or IPC Champion experience
- Knowledge of the AN-ACC funding model
