About The Opportunity

Camden & Campbelltown Hospitals are seeking dedicated and energetic Allied Health Assistants, ideal for current university students or those looking to gain experience in allied health. This role offers a great opportunity to develop skills in a healthcare setting, providing clinical support under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional.

Key duties include implementing therapy plans under direction of an allied health professional (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy), documenting in clinical files, effective clinical handover, and communicating with cultural sensitivity and confidentiality. The assistant will also participate in departmental meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development through relevant Continuous Professional Development activities.

Additionally, the allied health assistant will handle clinical administration tasks such as updating data, photocopying, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring administrative tasks are completed promptly and monitoring stores to maintain sufficient supplies. Participation in quality improvement initiatives is also expected.

Responsibilities

- Provide high‑quality clinical service to clients and their families/carers under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to optimise health outcomes.
- Undertake designated departmental and administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.
- Implement therapy plans under the direction of a physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
- Document clinical activities accurately in clinical files.
- Conduct effective clinical handovers.
- Communicate with cultural sensitivity and maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in departmental meetings, supervision, and professional development activities.
- Perform clinical administration tasks such as updating data, photocopying, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed promptly and monitor stores to maintain sufficient supplies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant experience working within a healthcare setting, including student clinical placements or other healthcare roles.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Skilled.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
