Join the Department for Child Protection as an Access Worker/Support Worker based in Whyalla. In this practical, people focused role, you will support children and young people to maintain safe and positive connections with their families and communities. Working alongside social workers, you will assist with supervised access visits, transport, and daily activities that place each child's wellbeing at the centre of care. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to positive outcomes for children and families within a supportive, community-based team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Arrange and supervise family access visits to ensure safety and wellbeing.
* Transport children and young people to visits, appointments, and activities.
* Support social workers in delivering quality assistance to families.
* Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.

You will be a caring and motivated person who is passionate about supporting children, young people, and families. You understand the importance of safety, consistency, and positive relationships, and you approach your work with empathy, patience, and respect. Your communication skills support trust and connection with children, carers, and colleagues. You will demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and professional manner. You are comfortable following procedures, maintaining accurate records, and working in dynamic environments where flexibility is important. Special Conditions

Essential: A current Australian Driver's Licence (P2 or above) and a willingness to drive.
