Responsibilities
* Provide professional expertise and services as required for TPCH and Metro North Health (MNHHS) through the Department of Gastroetnerology in the areas of clinical leadership, teaching, research and quality
* To assist the Medical Director of Gastroenterology to oversee and provide a full range of high quality services in the field of Gastroenterology within the hospital and the district
* To assist the Medical Director of Gastroenterology to lead quality assurance, continuing education, clinical teaching and research activities of the Department
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
* Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies
* Provide specialist Gastroenterology services for patients at the TPCH and referred patients from Metro North and State-wide
* Assist in educational activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees, as appropriate for a teaching hospital of the School of Medicine, University of Queensland. You are required to be responsible for the practice of Gastroenterology Senior Medical and Visiting Medical officers and junior medical staff, to assist in their professional development and to be appropriate role models for them
* Keep records which meet the standards required by the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
