**About the Role**
Reporting to the Social Performance and Communications Specialist, as the Communications & Sustainability Officer you will support the Delivery Planning team of the AAPowerLink project. The delivery planning team is responsible for planning key construction aspects of the project across disciplines such as Health, Safety and the Environment, Logistics, Construction management, Workforce planning and Social Performance and Communications. The team works in collaboration with other joint partner organisations and with the client, Sun Cable.
The position will work in partnership with the Social Performance and Communications Specialist on a day-to-day basis to promote and support the work of AAPowerLink and can be based in either Darwin or Brisbane.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Understand and personally comply with project environmental, safety and health philosophy, systems, and requirements
- Provide the Delivery Planning team with planning and execution, document management and administration support and advice
- Write content and manage production of a range of promotional material intended for internal and external use
- Translate technical project information into plain English
- Contribute to monthly and other regular project reporting
- In partnership with the Social Performance and Communications Specialist, prepare a quarterly project newsletter including writing stories, liaising with the graphic designer and sourcing content
- Maintain database and other project systems, as required. This may include supporting stakeholder engagement, construction planning and/or HSE tracking and reporting.
- Plan and implement project milestone and team events (both internal and external)
- Maintain the delivery phase project photo library including obtaining appropriate talent release
- Manage other social performance and communication project work in collaboration with the Social Performance and Communications Specialist, as needed
**Essential Experience**
- Experience working in a project officer, communications and marketing, or research position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic team and be adaptable as project requirements change
- Demonstrated experience in preparing documents and other collateral, with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise own workload
- The ability to write for a range of material types and audiences
- Australian residency or the ability to work within Australia.
**Desirable requirements**
- Qualifications in communications, marketing or public relations or similar
- Knowledge of construction and infrastructure projects
- Desktop publishing or template management skills
