Help us shape the nation. UGL has a strategic partnership with the Department of Defence across the Defence Fuels Network for Fuels Management, Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance. An opportunity now exists to join our business in what is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in Australia's Defence environment and support national security requirements of the Nation.

This role can be based in VIC or SA with travel across multiple defence sites in the region, and is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of VIC/SA fuel operations and maintenance as required by the Defence Fuel Network (DFN) and in accordance with the Operations Systems Plan (OSP) and Maintenance Management Plan (MMP) in addition to referenced and required Defence documentation.

Manage state teams of O&S Supervisor to deliver Maintenance and Operating Services across Victoria & South Australia Defence Fuel Network (DFN) for the DFN MCC.

Key Responsibilities

* Management and Leadership
o Build a cohesive, high performing team facilitating achievement of team goals through use of UGL's Performance Objective setting process, Succession Planning tools and challenging site personnel to think innovatively.
o Ensure competencies, experience and any development requirements for staff are identified and plans implemented to address/support them.
o Ensure employee relations are well managed and no lost time to disputes through employee engagement, strong communication of key messaging and leadership integrity.
o Recognise team members that have gone above and beyond what is expected in day‐to‐day work.
* Health, Safety and Environment
o Lead and champion best practice HSSE Management across operations through promotion of a safe behaviour culture.
o Ensure any safety issues/incidents are appropriately investigated and required actions completed, closed out and suitable communication distributed in a timely manner.
o Ensure appropriate resources are allocated for effective HSE management and coaching of UGL employed, subcontracted and UGL managed personnel to achieve strong HSE performance.
* Performance
o Demonstrate strong financial acumen taking ownership of OA/MAbudget performance through management of Labour and non‐labour costs.
o Work with the Project Control team and Asset Management teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of OA & MA Services in accordance to Asset Management Plans.
o Contribute to the Annual Business Plan development and reporting.
o Contribution to the Contract Status Reporting Requirements.
o Improve the performance and operation of the DFN over the term to optimise the Total Cost of Ownership.
o Increase the operational resilience of the DFN to be able to respond to fuel supply demands and requirements to meet Defence's operational and preparedness needs.
o Utilise effective management tools, procedures and processes to fully and manage the Contractor's supply chain across all Locations in respect of the services provided at those Locations.

About You

* Relevant tertiary technical qualifications (e.g. Engineering, Asset Management, Electrical Engineering) or 10+ years relevant industry experience.
* Current holder or able to obtain NV‐1 Security clearance (Australian Citizen).
* Extensive experience in Maintenance & Operations management & delivery in the Oil & Gas industry.
