About the Role
SBCCQ Inc. is seeking a Volunteer Outreach Program Team Member to join our passionate and supportive team. The successful applicant will work with a team of volunteers and professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct onsite visits to animal shelters and rescue centres – you will be involved with the interviewing process as well as photography, videoing and recording any appropriate information
* Interview shelter staff and volunteers about their work and experiences
* Capture high-quality photos and videos of the facility, animals, and people (with consent)
* Record notes, quotes, and compelling stories to be used in social media, blog posts, or newsletters
* Represent SBCCQ Inc. in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner
* Ensure all content (photos, interviews) is submitted to the Program Coordinator in a timely manner
* Follow all privacy, safety, and animal handling guidelines set by each facility
* At all times our team members need to be aware and sensitive to the response of volunteers at the centres who may be hesitant to being involved with photography or videoing or any personal information they would prefer not to include.
Additional Information
* All photos and written content collected within this role will be the property of SBCCQ Inc. and may be used in promotional materials, social media, or other publications (with credit to the volunteer when and where appropriate).
* Templates for interviews and photography will be provided.
* Team members to be aware that all materials produced by us will be vetted by the centres management and approved prior to posting on our social media sites.
Skills and Experience
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Comfortable conducting interviews and building rapport with new people
* Experience with photography
* Organised and dependable; able to manage scheduling and follow-up
* Passionate about animal welfare and storytelling
* Access to transportation (for in-person visits)
* Police Clearance Certificate
* Working with Children Certificate
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Good written communication and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with a volunteer team
* An interest in conservation, education, or community-focused work
