Job Description

The City of Stirling is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead strategic and operational management for the City Future Business Unit. As Manager City Future, you will lead initiatives in Economic Development, Strategic Planning, Projects, and Environmental Health.

Your role will involve developing and implementing annual Business Unit plans, progress reports, and budgets. You will contribute to strategic plans for issue-based projects, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes, regulations, by-laws, and Council resolutions.

You will lead and mentor Business Unit employees, setting performance objectives, and monitoring progress. You will facilitate partnerships and alliances on urban planning projects with key stakeholders.

Additionally, you will act as Director Planning and Development when required. You will manage the implementation of the Council's vision through clear action strategies and project management plans.

* Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish and communicate innovative strategies.
* Highly developed communication skills, including verbal presentation, report writing, and community engagement.
* Financial management skills, including budget development and management.
* Excellent knowledge of town planning legislation and statutory town planning processes.
* Demonstrated experience in project management of strategic initiatives in urban planning, economic development, and business support.
