Centre Director – Early Childhood Education
Located within the vibrant Northern Rivers community, our beautiful coastal service offers a welcoming and supportive environment where children, families and educators feel truly connected. Licensed for up to 75 children aged six weeks to six years, our family‑owned and operated centre is committed to creating a genuine “home away from home” experience.
You will lead the overall operations of the service, ensuring a high‑quality, safe and engaging environment for children, families and educators.
Centre Director responsibility is to lead a passionate team of educators while being supported by an experienced management team and provided with high‑quality resources to help you thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the centre, including administration, compliance, health and safety, and team leadership.
* Manage staffing rosters, ratios and supervision requirements in line with legislative and regulatory standards.
* Support occupancy growth and build strong relationships with families through exceptional customer experience and care.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high‑quality practices aligned with the National Quality Standards (NQS).
* Oversee the delivery of engaging educational programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
* Create meaningful connections with children, families and the wider community to foster a positive centre culture.
* Mentor and develop your team, creating an environment that encourages professional growth and collaboration.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Centre Director or Nominated Supervisor role.
* Demonstrated success leading a high‑performing early childhood service.
* ACECQA‑approved Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education.
* Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis, and Child Protection certifications.
* Strong knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, EYLF, NQS and CCS requirements.
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
* Previous Assessment & Rating experience will be highly regarded.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, children and teams.
