Context
Living and working in a remote school in the Barkly offers a rewarding experience with a rich and diverse cultural environment. Many Barkly Schools are located within approximately 350km of Tennant Creek on sealed or dirt roads. The region has over 1700 students, with an average of 91% Aboriginal students and 44% of students speaking English as a Language Dialect.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and explicitly deliver quality teaching and learning programs aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, curriculum policies, and educational trends.
* Support students through various interactions and develop supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
* Ensure the physical, social, cultural, and emotional well-being and safety of students during school hours.
* Assess students regularly through diagnostic, formative, and summative methods for developmental feedback and reporting.
* Maintain student records and samples of work; report on student performance to students, parents, the department, and other stakeholders as required.
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with the school, parents, and the community.

Ability to collaboratively plan, prepare, and deliver teaching programs that cater to diverse student needs and learning styles, aligned with curriculum policies and educational trends.
Knowledge of and ability to implement effective, inclusive teaching and learning strategies, including technology and assessment, to foster a differentiated learning environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students.
Ability to plan and apply behaviour management strategies to support a positive learning environment.
Collaborative working and communication skills to build productive partnerships with staff, parents, and the community in an intercultural setting.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
