Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
We are seeking an experienced, mechanically biased Senior Project Engineer to work on a large plant in the Deeside area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and contractor employees.
The Senior level Project Engineer role includes:
* Project Governance: Prepare detailed governance structure, project plans and progress reports.
* Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and contractor employees.
* Engineering Requirements: Develop detailed engineering requirements and specifications for plant/process improvements with supporting risk assessments, management of change documentation, process safety considerations, and hazard/operability considerations (HAZOP).
* Day-to-Day Management: Responsible for day-to-day management of the drawing office team and the project support team.
* Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills (ideally PRINCE2) – company will arrange for you to attend PRINCE2 training if required.
* Degree Qualification: Degree qualification strongly preferred.
* Capital Project Experience: Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects, along with experience in the management and control of external contractor personnel is desirable.
* Budget Management: Successful Senior Mechanical Project Engineer should be able to demonstrate excellent budget management skills.
* Health, Safety and Environmental Management: Demonstrate excellent Health, Safety and Environmental Management & Legislation knowledge.
* Professional Development: The company will also cover professional body subscriptions and will encourage and support team members to gain Chartered status.
* Generous Package: Salary range of £53-64k includes an uplift of a set amount of prepaid annual overtime hours. Officially the hours are 8.30am-4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-3.45pm on a Friday, but Engineers often start earlier and finish earlier, so there's some flexibility. The site is going through a large phase of investment and offers team members a generous package including a quarterly bonus scheme which, if hit, pays quarterly, which could mean an extra £5-8k per year on top of your basic. They have welfare support for staff, employee discount schemes, and have also recently amended salaries to help people adjust to increased personal costs.
