Job status: Ongoing
Eligibility: Open to Everyone
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting dual vacancy with multiple PO3 opportunities to join our project delivery team as either a Senior Site Engineer or Contract Manager. Whether you thrive on being on site or enjoy balancing technical delivery with contract management, these roles let you play a hands-on part in delivering high-quality infrastructure that makes a real difference to South Australians.
As a Contract Manager, you'll shape and manage contracts from planning through delivery, partnering with site engineers, contractors and stakeholders to keep projects on track and meeting time, cost, safety and quality expectations. You'll enjoy a mix of office and site-based work, with real influence over outcomes.
As a Senior Site Engineer, you'll be at the heart of construction activities, providing trusted technical leadership on site, working closely with contractors, solving problems as they arise and ensuring works are delivered safely, to standard and with pride.
Whichever path suits you, you'll be supported by a collaborative team, work on meaningful projects, and be encouraged to grow through ongoing professional development, leadership programs and opportunities to represent the Department – making this a genuine next step in your career with one of South Australia's largest organisations.
About You
You are a confident, hands-on professional who knows how to get projects delivered. With strong technical capability and experience in project and contract management, you're comfortable working independently, making sound decisions and taking ownership of outcomes. You build trust easily, communicate clearly, and work well with contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues and negotiate practical solutions.
