Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare a variety of cake batters, fillings, and decorations
• Create custom special-order cakes in different sizes
• Produce French-style pastries: puff pastry, éclairs, croissants, quiches, shortbread, etc.
• Glaze and decorate pastries with attention to detail
• Store and display baked goods professionally
• Weigh and mix ingredients accurately
• Monitor oven temperatures and baking times
• Clean, grease, and maintain baking trays and equipment
• Adhere to strict hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety standards
• Work independently and manage daily production schedules
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Baking (Certificate IV is an advantage)
• Strong eye for detail and artistic presentation
• Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
• Familiarity with Australian workplace safety regulations
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Good time management and initiative
• Physically fit and capable of handling baking tasks
• Flexibility with shifts and a positive, team-focused attitude
