About the role
This role plays a key part in delivering the high standard TL is known for. It's a varied role that will see you responsible for constructing, modifying, and repairing the bodies of heavy vehicles in line with stringent safety standards and customer specifications.
Build and assemble heavy vehicle bodies, including truck bodies and parts, frames, panels and components to chassis or vehicles following detailed specifications, drawings and work instructions
Fit and secure subframes, trays, body accessories, and other structural elements, including cranes at times
Follow daily and weekly production schedules to ensure on-time completion of builds
Prioritise work tasks based on build sequence, deadlines, and supervisor direction
Fabricate body parts using various materials, including metal and composite materials
Manage and minimise material waste through accurate cutting, fitting, and reuse where possible
Diagnose structural issues and perform necessary repairs, ensuring optimal functionality and appearance
Customise and modify vehicle bodies to meet specific client requirements
Inspect completed vehicle bodies to ensure fit, finish, and structural integrity meet quality and safety standards and specifications

About you
We're looking for someone who cares about their work and wants to be part of a team that does things properly. The ideal addition to our team will likely:
Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding, fabrication, or automotive body building (preferred)
Proven experience as an HV Fitter or vehicle body builder or similar fabrication role, particularly in the heavy vehicle industry
Strong knowledge of vehicle body construction, repair, and customisation
Ability to read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specifications
Awareness of waste management and recycling
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work
Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet schedules
Take pride in quality and attention to detail
