Your new company
We're seeking an experienced Windows Desktop Engineer to join a high-performing ICT team supporting hardware lifecycle operations across a large government department. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth acquisition, deployment, and retirement of ICT hardware and peripherals in line with internal policies and national standards.
Your new role
* Imaging and configuring laptops, desktops, and high-spec devices.
* Managing inbound and outbound ICT shipments using COPE and StarTrack.
* Resolving service requests and incidents via ServiceNow.
* Preparing starter laptop bundles for new staff, including remote and regional locations.
* Maintaining accurate inventory records and updating asset data.
* Importing device hash data into Autopilot and raising Microsoft support cases.
* Supporting warranty claims with vendors like Dell and HP.
* Assisting with workstation deployments and co-location projects.
* Sanitising returned devices and preparing e-waste for disposal.
* Collaborating with asset management teams to ensure stock control and compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
* Hands-on experience imaging and configuring ICT hardware.
* Proficiency with asset management systems, especially ServiceNow.
* Understanding of warranty processes and vendor engagement.
* Knowledge of ICT asset lifecycle management, including SIM card verification and secure disposal.
* Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold a minimum of NV1 security clearance. Candidates without the required clearance will not be considered.
* Location: Canberra, ACT -based candidates only, due to the collaborative and interactive nature of the role.
