About the Role
ID Support NSW is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Programs & Breach Response team. The team supports breach scenarios by providing a tailored CRM and telephony solution, data analysis, data cleansing and reporting to enable timely notifications to affected customers. You will support the Senior Data Analyst with:
* Gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources to identify patterns, trends, anomalies and opportunities
* Cleansing data to meet different requirements for different functions
* Interacting with Salesforce CRM and AWS telephony platform, plus external technical applications to perform essential business functions
* Building and maintaining data visualisation and reporting dashboards across applications
* Monitoring KPIs and metrics aligned to business outcomes
* Assessing current and future processes to ensure governance and quality assurance
* Engaging with stakeholders on data analysis and cleansing during agency breach responses
* Identifying areas for continuous improvement of programs and processes
* Supporting project management functions in data and technical application enhancements
* Contributing insights to strategic planning, continuous improvement initiatives and performance enhancement
Key Accountabilities
* Identify, interpret and analyse data to answer business problems, including detecting trends and patterns in complex data; create inferences or insights
* Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and strategies to optimise statistical efficiency and quality
* Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases/data systems to required standards
* Filter and clean data to ensure quality and accuracy of source data
* Produce reports and visualisations to clearly communicate findings to the target audience
* Analyse and define new process improvement opportunities to support continuous improvement and outcomes
* Develop and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management
* Provide advice to stakeholders on ways to improve efficiency and reliability of data products and services
About Cyber Security NSW
Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function within Digital.NSW, responsible for cyber risk management, improving cyber skills and awareness, and ensuring preparedness for cyber incidents. The team collaborates across NSW Government to set standards and protect digital information and services.
About You
To be successful, you will:
* Have a strong understanding of applying QA, validation and data linkage in a business context
* Thrive in fast-paced environments, manage competing priorities, and respond to information requests
* Be a clear communicator and capable decision-maker who can distill complex data concepts into concise actionable advice
* Hold tertiary qualifications in statistics, mathematics, social science, actuary, engineering, computer science, econometrics, or equivalent experience
* Be an Australian citizen capable of obtaining/maintaining Negative Vetting Level 1 National Security Clearance and a police check
* Have experience with tools including Salesforce (CRM), AWS (telephony), Microsoft Office and data viz/reporting tools (Power BI); proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
* Desirable: experience with Python, Databricks, and Salesforce admin; not required
