Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by maintaining cleanliness, supporting chefs with basic food preparation, and helping the team deliver a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Cleaning:
* Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly.
* Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, including benches, sinks, and floors.
* Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling is managed appropriately.
Food Preparation:
* Assist chefs with basic food prep, such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables.
* Portion and store ingredients as directed.
* Follow safe food handling and hygiene practices at all times.
General Support:
* Restock supplies (utensils, crockery, cleaning products, etc.).
* Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
* Support kitchen team with other duties as required.
Skills & Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment (preferred but not essential).
* Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
* Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
* Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices (training can be provided).
