Job Description:
The Expediting and Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for all material and documentation expediting, as well as all in-bound logistics activities.
This role involves managing the supervision and completion of discipline-nominated expediting and logistics activities, within project quality, safety, and environmental management plan guidelines on schedule and within budget.
Main Responsibilities:
* Promote and ensure that safety and environmental working practices are adhered to, ensuring that Safety and Environmental management systems (procedures, JSA, Method Statements) are followed.
* Expediting of documentation and material from the vendor on executed purchase orders.
* Management of project logistics, including but not limited to, Inbound International & Domestic Logistics in accordance with project procedures.
* Maintenance of logistics tracking records within project systems.
* Capture of daily delivery dockets, timesheets, diaries, delays, site instructions, photos.
Key Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience working in the construction industry or a similar role – preferred.
* Experienced in strategic logistics and knowledge of the principles of large-scale project activities.
* Experience in expediting documents and material in a similar role.
* Management of the project’s expediting platform.
* Interfaces with engineering leads for document expediting.
* Knowledge and experience with contemporary logistics systems.
* Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects works with logistics requirements and managing supplier relationships.
* Proven planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with a proactive adaptable attitude.
* Sound knowledge of construction materials and subcontract industry and associated logistics.
* Proven understanding of local and international import/export legislation or requirements.
* Well-developed time management and problem-solving skills.
