Handyman – Complete Island Services (CIS) / Hamilton Island Holiday Apartments (HIHA)
Live & Work in Paradise
HIHA manages over 130 beautiful holiday homes across Hamilton Island in conjunction with our sister cleaning, valet & maintenance company CIS, and we're looking for a skilled Handyman to join our property maintenance team. This is our second Handyman position, so you'll be working alongside another friendly, capable tradesman, sharing the workload and covering each other's days off.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a relaxed but rewarding lifestyle on one of Australia's most iconic tropical islands.
About the Role
Every day is different here. One morning you might be installing a new washing machine overlooking turquoise water, and that afternoon you could be fixing a sliding door in a luxury villa before finishing your day with a quick swim or sunset walk. Our homes are stunning, our guests are holiday happy, and our team culture is supportive, positive, and genuinely enjoyable.
You'll be responsible for general repairs and maintenance across our properties, ensuring that every guest arrives to a space that feels fresh, functional, and cared for.
Key Responsibilities
* General repairs, painting touch-ups, minor plastering and surface fixes
* Practical use of hand tools and battery-powered tools
* Replacing and repairing common household fittings and fixtures
* Basic plumbing tasks (taps, toilets, connections, etc.)
* Basic carpentry and cabinetry adjustments
* Installing and replacing appliances (TVs, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers)
* Checking and maintaining safety equipment (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.)
* Changing locks and securing property access
* Reporting larger works or hazards to management
* Maintaining a tidy, organised work environment and vehicle

* Reliable, trustworthy, hands-on, and motivated
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Comfortable logging jobs and notes on a phone or tablet (basic computer literacy)
* Current full driver's licence required
* Previous maintenance / handyman / carpentry experience preferred
